Description

The Roman Republic was a short-lived (1798 to 1799) French Client State (Under the Directory regime), created out of the conquered Papal States. The state was dissolved after Neapolitan invasion, with the Papal states restored till 1808, when French invasion was again dissolved the Papal States.
